When I shop for a protein powder, I have 4 criteria in mind:

1. Digestibility - Easily the most important. It's somewhat of an embarrassing topic to broach, but let's face it-- a lot of the inferior quality protein powders on the market give the user tremendous diarrhoea and gas. When a protein powder gives me severe diarrhoea that immediately tells me that my body is not digesting the product well, and simply excreting it all out. Nitrean is definitely one of the best digesting protein powders I have ever used, and that testimonial has been agreed upon by ALL of my training partners.

2. Science - Nitrean consists of a simple, effective, potent formula. Three forms of varying time released proteins (whey for fast, egg for medium, and casein for slow utilization), fortified with Glutamine peptides. No fancy, ineffective "gimmick" ingredients (i.e. Smilax, Wild Mexican Yam, Boron, etc.) that simply don't work. Just the "Tried and True" basics that ALL athletes need to perform at optimal levels!

Before ordering anything from At Large Nutrition, I had a hard time deciding between Vanilla and Chocolate, since I'd heard good things about both. I went ahead and ordered the Vanilla Nitrean, but I expressed an interest in the chocolate as well. Not only did they mail out my order the same day, they also included a small sample of the chocolate. Surprisingly, I like it even more than the Vanilla, and I'll be ordering that from now on.

After a couple weeks with the Nitrean, I've enjoyed mixing it with several foods. The powder is fine and consistent (no clumps whatsoever), giving me the freedom to make everything from milkshakes, to even mixing a scoop in my oatmeal at breakfast. It's great. Eating right isn't about trying a fad for a few weeks. It's all about finding the right foods you can eat for the rest of your life. Nitrean opens up so many possibilities for eating right, I know I'm going to actually stick with it.

I've also noticed a small change in my body composition, from adding more protein in my diet. You don't need Nitrean to do it, but this is the best way I've found to add large amounts of protein without fat or carbs. Did I mention how delicious the chocolate is?

I first heard about Nitrean from Chris Mason on the WannaBeBig forums.

The product sounded too good to be true. At the time, I was sick of my old Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey, and needed a change. I placed an order, one of each flavor of Nitrean. I received a confirmation within minutes, and in only two days I received my order. Talk about amazing service!

Personally, I fell in love with the chocolate flavor, but the vanilla was amazing as well. Nitrean quickly became a staple in my diet because of its smooth mixablity, amazing flavor, and nutritional contents. Every time I had a shake it was like I was cheating on my diet with a dessert! It felt like I had more energy, and was less hungry throughout the day.

I saw gains in strength and loss in body fat that I had never seen from other whey products. Needless to say, I will be a loyal AtLarge customer for a long time.

At first glance the powder looked very fine and clean looking. No chunks or lumps in the powder shows it's a clean product and not created with cheap ingredients. The aroma was pure chocolate smell. (I haven't had chocolate since day one of my diet... so this really turned me on to it.) Overall look and smell - 9/10

I tested the powder 2 different ways with water. The first was to put powder in my glass then add water, the second was same process but reversed. Some powders need to be added first in order to completely dissolve. This wasn't one of them. Both times the powder dissolved immediately in the water with only a few stirs of my spoon. After mixing by hand, I waited a minute to check if any lumps would appear or if any of the powder would settle down on the bottom of the glass meaning a waste of product with every glass. None... perfect dissolution into the water - 9/10.

Now all that was left was taste test. I took a small sip at first and it was very impressive. I took down the glass pretty much in a minute with a few simple gulps to see if it sat well in the stomach if taken in quickly before a workout. I completed my 30 min hard cardio and was pleased at the fact that I wasn't feeling and signs of cramp or being bloated. I tried the powder again to see how it sat in my stomach after a workout and once again was pleased at how light it settled. (I don't like a powder that makes you feel sluggish or like you swallowed a pound of dough.).

I think the most impressive part of the test was the after taste. I currently use cytosport protein and the Nitrean matches it in every category except one... Taste. The Nitrean had the best overall after taste because there was none. With the cytosport there was always a little bitter taste in my mouth about 10 seconds after a chug or gulp. With the Nitrean all I tasted was chocolate. Total taste score… 10/10.

Out of the two I'm not too sure what the exact differences are in fat and carbohydrate counts... But I definitely recommend the Nitrean for anyone looking for a very clean top notch product. The taste, the smell, the mixture, and the texture are all top grade which in my eyes means a really good product. What really impressed me was that the customer service I received at that place was amazing. The product was shipped on Monday morning and I received it about 30 hours later!

I've used your protein product Nitrean for about 3 weeks now so I think I have a good base from which to give a review.

TASTE
Wow. I can actually say I LIKE the taste of this protein (Vanilla flavor). This is the first protein supp I have not had to add any bananas or strawberries to make it taste better. My only complaint is that it is just a tad too sweet for my tastes, but I like stuff a bit less sweet than most people.

MIXING
One of the easiest protein supp's to mix. Believe it or not, I was able to put milk or water in to a cup and just stir it for about 5 seconds and there were no clumps. When was the last time that happened?

RESULTS
When I started taking this, I had a slight tear in my bicep. I had been resting it for about 4 weeks and taking extra protein and it never seemed to heal. (OK, I didn't rest it 100% - who ever does?) When I added in the Nitrean I swear in 1.5 weeks it was almost completely healed. It's now at about 97% when it was absolutely painful 3 weeks ago. Now obviously I cannot say 100% that it was due to the change to Nitrean protein, but I think it speaks well for it that I not only continued to heal but healed faster. That means that at the very least, I was metabolizing a greater percentage of protein per serving than with my old protein (since I took the same amount).

I just wanted to comment on your product Nitrean. I am thoroughly satisfied with this product. The smooth mix and good taste is nice but the most beneficial factor to me is that unlike most whey's, Nitrean contains cassinate and egg protein. I train hard at the gym and often at times I have to take my shake after my weights and then continue to do striking or grappling sessions. I've noticed in the short amount of time I have been using Nitrean, that the slower digesting proteins along with the quick assimilating whey's keep me going until I can get some solid food in me. I know my muscles are being repaired and my amino levels are staying high.

I am a division 1-AA offensive lineman.

To help maintain my strength and size I need to supplement my diet with extra protein since at 300lbs its hard to get my protein needs just from whole foods. I first was recommended of Nitrean through a friend on a forum, so I checked out AtLarge Nutrition and saw that for the price and serving ratio Nitrean was the best buy.

Not only was it the best buy, most other protein powders aren't a combination of egg, whey, and casein - Nitrean is. I used it mostly as an in between meal shake but you can use it for post workout, pre-bedtime, anytime during the day.

I was pretty happy with the taste, normally a lot of powders claim that they don't clump, but they do. Nitrean never clumped up on me, and I normally mixed it with water in a shaker cup. Nitrean is a great overall protein powder that will help anyone from a football player to a marathon runner to a power lifter. I give it 2 thumps up!

I just got home from work and found my 3 jugs of Nitrean waiting for me. I had to try a shake to see if all the hype was true, even with dinner almost ready!

I tested all the claims that I have read. I mixed 2 scoops in 16oz of water and took a fork and stirred away and amazingly didn't get one single clump. Bye-bye Now Foods WPI. Secondly, I was wondering about the supposedly great taste. I am not one that really worries a lot about taste nor cries much about it, but what I have been using is about as bland as one could ask for. Took my first drink and I couldn't believe it!

It’s awesome, even in water! I can't imagine what it would be like in a nice cold glass of milk! Bye-bye Now Foods WPI. My wife even tasted it and said "gosh that’s a lot better isn't it?"

I just got the strawberry Nitrean in yesterday and used it tonight...this stuff is unbelievable. I'm not even a strawberry fan and it's the best I've protein powder anywhere that I've every had. Nitrean is an amazing product that gives me more bang for my buck than any other. Being a vegetarian, I have some trouble finding protein sources. Protein shakes was a convenient answer but most of them are not cost effective when you look at them from the eyes of a grad student living on a stipend.

I’ve been weightlifting for nearly 9 years now and taking supplements for almost as long. Protein supplements being the one I’ve relied on the most. Through all those years I’ve gone through so many different kinds and types that they had started running together. I recently ordered some Chocolate Nitrean and Creatine from you guys this past Friday. It got here on Tuesday, which is amazing in and of itself, but what's more impressive is the actual product. I'm not usually one to go out of my way to give feedback, but man... I have been chugging cardboard for almost ten years now, and I gotta say, this Chocolate Nitrean is fantastic! It mixes with a SPOON with no floaters!? Are you kidding!? Tastes like good ol' Chocolate Ovaltine in milk and it still tastes good in water. I am truly amazed. You have a customer for life. This makes it so much easier to get (And enjoy!) the proper amount of protein that a grrrooowwing body needs.

Oh, and the Creatine is superb as well. Doesn't clump at all... People who complain about Creatine settling just need to stir once in between swigs so that it doesn't get wasted at the bottom of the glass.

I have to say it one more time. I am thrilled. Nitrean is the single best supplement product I have ever used for the simple fact that for once I don't feel like I am beating myself up to consume protein. Now I just worry that I will drink TOO MUCH. Hahaha!

Before trying Nitrean, I had tried 4 different protein powders. I could not stand the taste of these products, and would have to gag an entire shake down. One of the products I tried, I only used it three times. About half an hour after the shake, I would feel sick, then about an hour later I would throw up my lunch. I have been weightlifting for around one year, and have grown to love using protein shakes as part of my daily protein intake. I have tried other brands of powder, and with all of them I have problems with clumping and leaving bad aftertastes in my mouth. When I tried Nitrean from recommendations I had heard, I was surprised to see that it blended completely, and tasted like chocolate milk, even when mixed with water!

Growing up, I was always the tall and skinny guy. I'd play sports and sometimes weight lift, but I never seemed to gain muscle mass. A lot of this had with me not eating enough. Hi! I just want to give my testimonial in regards of Nitrean. I have been using Nitrean for a past 6 months. Let me start by saying that I suffer from Ulcerative Colitis for a past of 12 years, I have a very limited diet. I can eat no dairy products, no fresh fruits, vegetables, chocolates, no fried food. Well you get an idea . I have no problems at all with Nitrean, I take it after my workouts about twice a week. I have visible muscle gain and no upset stomach, which is really big deal for me.

Recieved my first batch of chocolate Nitrean today along with my samples of vanilla/strawberry (which I will try out later).

Oh my gosh! The stuff (mixed with milk) tastes like chocolate milk; I was imagining an odd, bitter taste because of the high amount of protein but had to double check that it was mixed in and I was actually drinking the mix! Love this stuff, definitely will be buying loads of it next shipment.

As a student who also work full time, I rarely have the time during the day to eat complete meals. Thankfully, I always bring some Nitrean in a Nalgene bottle and some almonds. For about 1.50$, I got a delicious shake, a hearty 350 calories (with the almonds), and a good 50 g of protein.
