  • J.T Hall

Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is J.T. Hall. I have been a competitive powerlifter since 1995. My best bench press is 523 lbs at a bodyweight of 210 lbs. I use only single-ply equipment (Inzer Advance Design, Denim and Phenom: www.inzernet.com) and compete in a drug free organization. The following are some of my powerlifting accomplishments (in no particular order):

    1) 2002 NASA POWERSPORTS (RAW) BENCH PRESSER OF THE YEAR

    2) 2003 NASA BENCH PRESSER OF THE YEAR

    3) 4th at the 2004 BENCH AMERICA II in Chicago, IL.

    4) Ranked by POWERLIFTING USA MAGAZINE as a top 100 bencher in the U.S.A. in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004

    5) The No.1 220 Bench presser in the NASA

    6) 2006 David Ricks USAPL OHIO MEET: 1st place in open 220 class - Bench Press: 500lbs. (drug tested)

    7) 2006 USAPL BP NATIONALS @ Charolette, NC: Gold in the raw 220 division with a 430lb bench press and bronze in the 220 lifetime drug-free division with 512lbs. (drug tested)

I am a graduate of the University of Kentucky (www.uky.edu) with an associate and bachelors degree in biology. I am currently taking graduate classes in Biomechanics and Exercise Physiology. I am the Sr. Lab Tech/Lab Manager at Kentucky Tobacco Research and Development Center (www.uky.edu/RGS/THRI/) for the University of Kentucky.

I am the N.A.S.A. (Natural Athlete Strength Association) Kentucky State Chairman, the overall number No.1 drug free bench presser in Kentucky, and a personal trainer at Lexington Athletic Club. I’m available for training at nasakentuckystatechairman@yahoo.com, or you can call me at (859)321-4419. You can also visit me on my personal website at www.geocities.com/nasakentuckystatechairman/NASA.html .

I compete in the N.A.S.A. (www.nasa-sports.com) because I believe it’s the best drug-free organization in the world! This is due in part to the great family atmosphere at the meets.

I am a member of the Omega Force & Solid Rock Christian Strength Ministry. I use my blessed strength (Philippians 4:13) to win souls for my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I have written articles for Monster Muscle magazine (the first was in vol. 1, issue 1, page 64). You can check out my new article on strength types in the current issue. I have also written articles for internet based companies such as the one I wrote for the critical bench website (www.criticalbench.com/bench-press-shirt.htm). Some other articles I have written can be found at the links below:

My number one goal as a powerlifter is to become the best DRUG-FREE bench presser in the U.S.A. In order to achieve that goal proper training is of paramount importance. The next most important factor is diet and intelligent supplementation with a high quality protein powder. I choose to use AtLarge’s Opticen because it contains 52g of quality protein per serving. I say “quality” because those 52g consist of a special protein matrix for optimum bioavailability (consisting of ultra filtrated whey protein concentrate, isolated casein peptides, total milk protein isolates, whey protein isolates, glutamine peptides, instantized egg albumin).

The proper protein matrix is important, but you have to be able to stomach it for it to be of any use. Opticen has a great taste and it doesn’t upset my stomach like other products I have used. I have encouraged all of my powerlifting friends to try this product for the reasons I have already mentioned, but also because this stuff really works! Powerlifting is just plain hard on the body and I have found Opticen really makes a difference in my recovery between lifting sessions. I used Opticen to prepare for Bench America II and it made a major difference on the day of the meet. Opticen was my X-factor!
